If there is a negative to season 2, it has to be the 'sister' episode 7. The next visit to Hawkins / The Upside Down can't come soon enough. The excellent young cast continue to astound (particularly 13 year old Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven and 15 year old Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin) keeping pace easily with the more experienced adults like, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Sean Astin and Paul Reiser. A feeling so warm and familiar, you'll want to revisit these new friends as soon as the show ends - the very essence of binge watching. Fortunately none of this is to the show's detriment, but rather enhances the respectful, retro vibe The Duffer Brothers so obviously crave. If last years debut slyly referenced (among other iconic 80's fantasy masters) Steven Spielberg, Stephen King and John Carpenter, Season 2 takes it up a notch by blatantly riffing on lines and scenes taken directly from Gremlins, E.T, The Thing, Stand By Me and Close Encounters Of The Third Kind.
